Odell Beckham Jr. Injury Update – Browns Wide Receiver Listed as ‘Questionable’ for Season Opener

Odell Beckham Jr. arrived in Cleveland two years ago with a point to prove. He made a name for himself as one of the top wide receivers in the NFL while playing for the New York Giants in the NFC East. However, it’s safe to say that his tenure with the Cleveland Browns has not gone as per plan.

Odell finished his first year with 1,035 receiving yards but just 4 receiving touchdowns. But he only featured in 7 games last season before tearing his ACL. He was ruled out for the rest of the season as rumors of a potential trade began to surface.

But OBJ is back and raring to go as the Browns aim to make the playoffs once again. However, he may have to wait a little while longer before returning to the football field.

Browns WR Odell Beckham Jr. is a doubt for 2021 NFL season opener

As per the latest Cleveland Browns injury report, Odell Beckham Jr. is listed as ‘questionable’ ahead of the team’s season opening game against Kansas City Chiefs. OBJ underwent knee surgery 11 months ago after his Week 7 injury.

The experienced wideout is among five projected starters listed as doubtful for the crucial Week 1 fixture. The likes of S Ronnie Harrison (ankle), DE Jadeveon Clowney (illness), C JC Tretter (knee) and K Chase McLaughlin (right hamstring) are also considered questionable.

“He was limited today. We’ll use the next 48 hours with all of these guys to determine who’s playing and who’s not. We’ll let you know 90 minutes before the game.

“For all of these guys that were limited in practice we’ll make sure we huddle up over the next 48 hours and make our decisions,” Stefanski said via the team’s official website.

OBJ’s best season in the NFL was back in 2015 when he had 1,450 receiving yards with 13 receiving touchdowns to his name for the Giants. He will hope to complete his fitness tests and return in time for the Browns as he faces a make-or-break season in 2021.
