It has only been 3 Weeks since the season started and we just might have the catch of the season. Pittsburgh Steelers’ rookie wide receiver George Pickens stunned supporters of both teams alike as he pulled off an incredible one-handed catch against the Cleveland Browns, giving former NY Giants’ Odell Beckham Jr. a run for his money.

Pickens’ catch came with 1:27 left in the first quarter, from a long throw by Mitch Trubisky. Although Browns’ Martin Emerson was tailing the receiver closely, the rookie managed to stretch himself in an unnatural fashion and grab the ball destined to go out of bounds.

Soon enough, the catch was being compared to the one made by the then Giants’ receiver Beckham Jr. on 24th November 2014. The only difference being Beckham’s 43-yard catch resulted in a touchdown.

Although, the uncanniest similarity between these two catches is both players’ teams lost their respective games. Is that not an eerie coincidence?

Odell Beckham Jr. applauds George Pickens’ incredible catch

The Twitter community didn’t take long to make it the highlight of the day, as it rightfully should be. And one of the very first people to applaud Pickens for his achievement was none other than the legend himself, Odell Beckham Jr.

Although on this next tweet, his “loudly crying” emoji response left fans wondering if he thinks it overshadowed his achievement. This in turn drew sympathetic reassurances from fans.
