Odell Beckham Jr. is looking for a team after missing out on a year’s worth of football. With his open workout session, he has shown all the teams that he is more than ready to dash on the field. A player of his caliber has no dearth of suitors. And one among them is the Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs. According to a former NFL defensive end, it is possible and should be an obvious choice for the explosive wide receiver.

The situation is also possible because of nine-million adjustments by the Chiefs’ QB Patrick Mahomes. Marcus Spears did some crystal work to show how it can all work out.

How can Odell Beckham Jr. to the Chief work?
Sports analyst Marcus Spears thinks the most obvious choice for Odell Beckham Jr. to make his comeback next season is Kansas City Chiefs. Speaking on ESPN’s NFL Live, the former Dallas Cowboys defensive end said that OBJ would be the WR1 at Arrowhead Stadium.
“He will be a one in Kansas City, which should be the obvious spot for me,” Spears said on NFL Live. The DE then laid out how the deal will benefit the wide receiver to take the pressure of the return off him. He asked the Chiefs to sign him on a one-year deal.

“I think you do a one-year deal, 6 or 7 million dollars in Kansas City. More than likely you’re gonna go end up in the AFC championship from what we’ve watched in the last five years. And you’d also have the opportunity to have dynamic numbers, show that you’re back fully healthy without it all being on you,” he added.

The Super Bowl champions do have a wide receiver slot empty after JuJu Smith-Schuster left the franchise in free agency. He will now take the field for New England Patriots. And a recent salary maneuver with Patrick Mahomes might just be enough for the Chiefs to get their man.
The Patrick Mahomes adjustment
Patrick Mahomes recently helped the Chiefs in saving a lot of money. The franchise converted $12 million of the QB’s 2023 roster bonus into a signing bonus. And that single maneuver has freed up $9.6 million in cap space.

This has opened the door for the franchise to look to replace JuJu Smith-Schuster with another explosive signing. And that is where Odell Beckham Jr. fits perfectly. Pairing up with one of the best QBs in the current generation could just be what the WR needs right now. And Mahomes will also be happy to get another dependable target to throw to.
