Odell Beckham Jr. has once again found himself on the sidelines. There is haze surrounding whether the WR will be back on the field for the Week 4 showdown against the Browns on Sunday. The Ravens wide receiver missed the match against the Colts due to an ankle injury he sustained during the Week 2 match.

This latest setback is just one in a series of injuries that have plagued the pro bowler’s career. The 30-year-old has battled an array of injuries since his league debut, often cutting short his stints with different franchises. But every time he faces setbacks, OBJ manages to bounce back in a dazzling display of resolve. And he owes it to a timeless wisdom.

One of the most bitter injuries OBJ faced sidelined him for an entire year. Last year, while playing for the Los Angeles Rams as a free agent against the Cincinnati Bengals, his electrifying performance was abruptly cut short by a torn ACL he inflicted in the second quarter while attempting to catch a short pass from Matthew Stafford. He was taken off the field and missed the rest of the season.

After inking a one-year, $15 million contract with the Baltimore Ravens, OBJ was finally getting back into the groove, only to be struck down by yet another injury. While it’s nothing like the season-ending as some of his previous injuries, the pro-bowler missed later matches. Hurdles are nothing new to him, and he’s well-acquainted with bouncing back. He recently took to his Instagram story to share a quote that reflects the wisdom that keeps him going, “Whenever God means to make a man great, He always breaks him in pieces first.”

OBJ has always played the hand he’s been dealt on the field, and this recent minor injury won’t be something that will slow him down.

OBJ was already added to the Ravens‘ injury report three days before Baltimore’s season debut against the Houston Texans. In the Ravens’ showdown against the Bengals on Sunday, the three-time pro bowler pulled the plug after the second half owing to injury.

Ravens head coach John Harbaugh divulged later that Beckham suffered an ankle injury, but it was not deemed too serious to miss the upcoming match. Nonetheless, the WR was ruled out for the third week.
