In athletic families, there is a hope that the children will follow in the father’s footsteps. Tom Brady’s elder son might face that, but he could pursue his father’s footsteps into baseball. But for Pat Mahomes Sr., it was different. His son, Patrick Mahomes, became a top athlete but in a distinct sport. Senior Mahomes went down memory lane and spoke about his son’s decision to pursue football.

Pat Mahomes Sr. had hopes until Mahomes’ junior season arrived

Senior Mahomes spoke about how football became Patrick Mahomes’ priority over other sports. He mentioned that the Detroit Tigers selected him in the 37th round and offered him handsome money. But Mahomes told them they would pursue football over baseball. Pat Mahomes Sr. mentioned, “To tell you the truth, I thought my whole life that he was gonna be a baseball player; and that’s the way things were trending. Until he stepped on the football field in his junior year and got to be a quarterback and just fell in love with.”

Pat Mahomes was not able to see his son in baseball gear. But he certainly would be proud of his success in the NFL. With Tom Brady now retired, he could step into the GOAT’s cleats to become the greatest ever after him.

Patrick Mahomes has multiple investments in franchises and a fast-food chain as well. But he would love to take up the role of general manager. As per FOX4 KC, the quarterback said he would take up the position of a GM after his football career and will contact Brett Veach for any pointers on it.
