OJ Simpson doesn’t have too much juice left despite a long career in the NFL and stints in show business. Despite initially owning the moniker, Juice, because of his first and middle name initials, the Buffalo Bills went with the electricity reference, naming their o-line ‘The Electric Company’. However, today’s ‘Juice’ reference is to Simpson’s net worth. And it has taken quite a hit over the years.

The majority of the running back’s accumulated net capital over the years has gone into paying off a civil damages lawsuit, having ties to the murder of Ron Goldman from the infamous ‘OJ Simpson Trial’. However, Orenthal gets pension relief from some of his old friends.

OJ Simpson lives on multiple pension sources

The former NFL player and actor in movies like ‘The Klansman’ was part of the trial surrounding the murder of his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman. Simpson received the acquittal in the Nicole case. However, a civil lawsuit from the Goldman family cost Juice approximately $33.5 million in damages, an amount Simpson hasn’t paid fully to the day.

Around half a million of the thirty-three have been paid off through the sale of OJ’s assets and memorabilia. The remaining is a bit tricky to recover for the Goldmans because of the sources of Simpson’s income today.

OJ, who once had a whopping $10.8 million net worth in 1992, courtesy of his then-record-breaking 5-year $650,000 Bills contract and his lucrative Hertz endorsement, only has about $3 million left in the bank today. Simpson makes all of his present living off of an NFL pension of $10,565 per month since 2012. Add to that the $1700 monthly pension from the Screen Actor’s Guild, and a personal pension fund that is reportedly valued between two to five million dollars, bringing his valuation to around $7M.

And the best part about these pension payment sources? The Goldmans cannot touch it as his pension is off-limits for bankruptcy or legal judgement payments.

Simpson allegedly stashed some money abroad

Despite all the recorded earnings, Ron Goldman’s family still believes that the former San Francisco 49ers running back has some of his wealth stashed off-shore in the Caymans. This came to light even more during OJ’s conviction in an armed robbery case in Las Vegas that saw him go to prison for almost a decade.

When Simpson and his associates were holding the victim at gunpoint, secret recording devices captured the victim saying that he was shocked to see OJ pointing a gun at him after everything the former had done for the NFL star, including setting up his off-shore accounts.

The plaintiffs still haven’t found concrete evidence of any accounts abroad. And they will look to extract whatever they can from any book deals or earnings OJ makes. But Juice’s pension is absolutely safe.
