Oscar-winning actor Matthew McConaughey is all set to collaborate with former linebacker and bestselling author Emmanuel Acho. Both of them will have a conversation about the difficulties of life. The event took place on May 22, 2022, at the LBJ Auditorium in Austin, Texas.

Acho put up a reel on his Instagram, inviting people to join the event. He did a short skit before, providing the audience with the details about the talk. He also promised all audiences with tickets that they would be eligible for his book, co-written with Oprah Winfrey.

Along with Acho, the reel also included posters of Acho’s book and of the event for maximum reach.

Why Matthew McConaughey and Emmanuel Acho doing the event together?

Both McConaughey and Acho are Texans and alumni of the University of Texas. This, however, is not the connection that has led these two men to share the stage.

The two had their first interaction during the second episode of Acho’s video series ‘Uncomfortable Questions with a Black Man’, in which they discussed race, racism, and how to combat systemic racism.

Acho’s purpose with the series was to have a conversation “with white America, in order to educate and inform on racism, system racism, social injustice, rioting, and the hurt African Americans are feeling.”

After the first time, both are collaborating again to have a live conversation in front of people regarding the troubles and difficulties of life.

Who are the speakers?

Emmanuel Acho was drafted in 2012 by the Cleveland Browns and traded to the Eagles in 2013. He retired from the NFL in 2015. Post his playing career, he has worked as a football analyst for ESPN and Fox Sports. His video series led to his first book of the same name. His second book, titled ‘Illogical: Saying Yes to a Life Without Limits’, was published earlier in 2022.

Matthew McConaughey is a legendary actor. He has acted in many acclaimed films throughout his illustrious career. McConaughey is an Academy Award winner for his film ‘Dallas Buyer’s Club’.
