NFL franchise Green Bay Packers seem to be doing everything in their power to convince QB Aaron Rodgers to remain in Green Bay. The teams’ head coach Matt LaFleur announced on Friday the appointment of Tom Clements as the quarterbacks’ coach for the upcoming season. LaFleur is recruiting a coach who comes with almost 26 years of experience and also shares some familiarity with the Packers’ QB.

Clements has spent almost 11 years previously with the franchise, and it was a successful association. He has been someone who knows how to extract the best out of NFL QBs. He was notably credited with developing Arizona Cardinals QB Kyler Murray during his tenure as a pass game coordinator/quarterback during the 2020 season.

Under him previously, the Packers finished within the top 10 in the NFL in scoring offense and total offense nine times each. The offense was probably one of the best among both the NFL conferences and they will be hoping for a similar sort of effect.

Is this the Packers’ move to make Aaron Rodgers stay?

The recruitment of a familiar face by the franchise is to settle QB Aaron Rodgers and give him further reason to stay. Rodgers has been one of the best QBs in the league, and being a back-to-back league MVP winner only adds to the Packers and their desperation to prolong their championship window. The loss of QB Rodgers from the roster will be a signal of resetting and rebuilding plans for the franchise.

Every passing year also means the window to act and bring another championship to Green Bay closing down even more. Coach LaFleur has been in deep planning to fill all the holes that came up during their 2021 campaign. It appears that hiring coach Clements brings more experience in their offense. It will provide the stability they might be searching for this offseason.
