Not only is Simmons a solid player for the team but also a great person. His presence with the team is crucial not just on, but off the field as well.

“This is the type of player, you see he’s the Walter Payton nominee twice, which means he is big in the community, whether it is in Denver or back home. This is a type of guy who, incredible football player, like All-Pro, Pro-Bowl, everything like that.”

Justin Simmons coming back to Denver

McAfee spoke about how good the signing is for the Broncos. Given how well-liked Simmons is as a person, not bringing him back would be a big blow to their reputation.

McAfee brought up how the Broncos must restructure their franchise ahead of the next season. “If you’re that good of a dude, that good of a player, and you don’t re-sign that guy, you immediately look like a franchise that, ‘We don’t take care of our own people’.

“Who knows what’s going on with Von Miller, perhaps they’re potentially restructuring and doing something over there…”

He added, “Them getting a deal done with Justin Simmons is good news for the franchise, good news for Justin Simmons. And also good news for guys that to a place, dominate, be a good person, and then get paid in the end.”

Can Justin Simmons help the Broncos improve on their season from last year? The franchise missed the Playoffs last season and if Simmons can play a part in the team reaching the Playoffs this season, he will have proved his worth to the franchise and the fanbase. But that may be a challenge.
