When a new player walks into a team, it takes time for them to settle down. But the new Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Kadarius Toney is already making waves. And he has impressed the team’s star tight end Travis Kelce after just two games for the franchise.

Toney scored his first receiving touchdown of his NFL career against the Jacksonville Jaguars in week 10. And Patrick Mahomes will certainly be looking forward to using the new weapon as an outlet more often.

Kadarius Toney blows away Travis Kelce

Travis Kelce spoke about Kadarius Toney on his weekly podcast, ‘New Heights’ with his brother Jason. Jason asked Travis about Toney and what kind of person and athlete he is. Kelce said that when he first met him, he was blown away.“Honestly, I was blown away by how professional he was. I mean when you get a trade like that you think something that you have to weigh out or something is missing,” Kelce said.

He added that Toney has a lot of confidence in himself and is a very smart athlete.“Ever since this man has been in the building, it has been like, ‘man this dude is smart. Man, this dude is crazy athletic. Man, this dude has a lot of confidence’. When you have a lot of confidence, you understand what’s going on there,” the 2020 Super Bowl champion said.

Kelce narrated a few stories about Toney’s punt reception, and it certainly looks like Patrick Mahomes and Co have got a new superweapon in the offense. Toney certainly has an admirer in the Chiefs’ locker room.

First TD for Toney and another Chiefs win

Kadarius Toney scored his first career touchdown in the league in Sunday’s win over the Jaguars. He caught four balls in the game for 57 yards. It was only his second game for the Chiefs after joining the team in a trade deal after week eight.

His old team, the New York Giants, traded him to the Chiefs for multiple future draft picks. They picked him in the first round of the 2021 NFL draft, but injuries prevented him from playing around half of last season. He finished his rookie year with 39 receptions for 410 yards in 10 games.

As for the Chiefs, they won the game against the Jaguars on the back of another super Mahomes performance. The QB threw four touchdown passes as the Chiefs won 27-17. They sit comfortably at the top of the AFC West table with seven wins out of nine. Another Super Bowl seems to be waiting for them.
