The Kansas City Chiefs has been dominating the NFL for the last few seasons. With Patrick Mahomes on their team, they fixed their quarterback problem. They have won two Super Bowls in the last 4 seasons, being one of the most successful teams in the NFL right now. Mahomes is just the missing puzzle in the Chiefs’ long journey to breaking the winning streak of the Patriots. They have a very talented quarterback-filled room with other exceptionally well players.

Travis Kelce has been a part of the Chiefs for a while now. The tight end of the team showed remarkable skills in both of the Super Bowl wins and also in the AFC championship in 2021. Travis holds a handful of records that led his team to unprecedented levels of success. But surprisingly, the quarterback on his team remembers him differently.

Patrick Mahomes recently appeared on the ‘New Heights’ live podcast in front of an audience in Kansas City. The Kelce Brothers hosted the show and were later joined by Chad Henne, former backup quarterback of the Chiefs. Henne recently announced his retirement from the NFL and his now former team didn’t make a good enough offer for him to stick around after. Henne and the duo discussed all sorts of things, including his meeting with Jason for the first time in the quarterback room.

Travis jokingly asked Henne if he should become the new backup quarterback, as the position was vacant after Henne’s retirement. And the conversation led to his first interaction with the tight end. Henne recalled that when he joined the Chiefs in 2018, Travis came to the quarterback room and said, “Hey! I was in the quarterback room with you at Michigan when you were a senior.” And Henne, having no idea who Kelce was, was thrown off guard, and his thoughts echoing, “Who the f*ck are you, dude?

The best tight end in the NFL

After Henne’s remark, the Kelce brothers burst into laughter. Henne clearly had no idea who Kelce was at that time. Now that they have worked together for years, Henne’s opinion has changed. He later in the event, labeled Travis as “the best tight end” in the NFL. Patrick nodded in Henne’s opinion, and the audience cheered.

Hennes has retired but the Chiefs has an incredible roster for this season. Both their offense and defense team had an incredible season last year winning the Super Bowl and now they are hoping to repeat history once again. Despite their player transfers and new recruits, the team has seen immense growth in terms of both skill development and overall performance.
