However, the quarterback is unhappy by a recent incident involving a tweet when Mecole Hardman Jr. left him out while making a hypothetical squad.

Mahomes attended Whitehouse High School in Texas, where he was a four-year varsity basketball player. His skills include reading the defense, surveying the space in front of him, seeing a chance to score, and jumping over his defender.

In a tweet by Arrowhead Pride, they asked that “If the current #Chiefs roster had to make up a March Madness team. who would be your starting 5?” Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Mecole Hardman Jr. makes his fantasy team over a retweet. Although, he missed out on Patrick Mahomes, and the quarterback has voiced his opinion.

The Kansas City Chiefs starting quarterback took to Twitter and expresses his side, saying, “Chill out fam… you know better.”

Patrick Mahomes played 27 basketball games in his career, and his varsity total stands 19.9 points per game, 3.4 assists, 6.7 rebounds, 4.0 steals, and 0.9 blocks, all per game.

But why Mahomes is now barred from playing basketball?

Unfortunately, in 2019, Patrick Mahomes’ basketball career came to an end. A video of the Chiefs quarterback dominating a casual game of basketball at a Kansas City gymnasium went viral on Twitter. The Chiefs freaked as sports fans appreciated the moment.

A game like a basketball has a high injury risk associated with it. Therefore, seeing the start QB diving in a casual basketball game might have made the Chiefs uneasy. Furthermore, according to Ben Volin, a senior NFL writer at Boston Globe, Mahomes is prohibited from playing basketball, and it is one of the sports of many that he can’t play as per his contract with the Chiefs.

According to Teicher, Kansas City Chiefs general manager Brett Veach announced that QB Patrick Mahomes may no longer practice pickup basketball because of this event. Mahomes’ pickup playing career seems to have a ton of potential.

The Grim Reaper threw for 18,991 yards, 151 touchdowns, and 37 interceptions in his time as a starting NFL quarterback, earning him 4 Pro Bowl honors, first-team All-Pro, NFL Offensive Player of the Year, and multiple MVP recognitions.

With basketball out from the mix, Mahomes can concentrate on improving on his skills, and move further to the 2022 season.
