Patrick Mahomes Loses Another Offensive Weapon Ahead of Season Start

The Kansas City Chiefs will face more troubles than anticipated in the offseason. Patrick Mahomes cherished his WR Tyreek Hill, and the duo made the Chiefs win difficult matches. However, after Hill got traded to the Dolphins, Mahomes would’ve thought about turning to his rookie WR, Justyn Ross. But surgery has placed the WR on injury reserve.

Mahomes lost another offensive weapon. The rookie WR is out for the entire season due to another foot surgery. It has not only created problems for the WR, but now Mahomes’ dream of winning a ring this season is in danger.

Moreover, Head coach Andy Reid mentioned the 22-year-old rookie recently had foot surgery. The surgery was to correct Ross’s previous surgery in November while at Clemson. Justyn Ross would’ve thought about being the chief offensive weapon to Patrick Mahomes, but unfortunate circumstances can shatter dreams.

In addition, Ross sat out the entire 2020 campaign because of an injury. He had a congenital fusion condition in his spine and neck requiring surgery. Further, the WR missed the final three games of 2021 after accentuating a foot injury he suffered earlier in the year.

More trouble for Patrick Mahomes with injuries and trades

Chiefs’ WR and long-time offensive weapon of Mahomes, Tyreek Hill, chose the Miami Dolphins for a fresh start. He is partnering up with Tua Tagovailoa in an attempt to change the fate of the team. However, this decision led to more trouble for Patrick as he relied a lot on his WR when the situation became tough.

Moreover, his rookie WR, Justyn Ross, was an exciting prospect for the Kansas City Chiefs before injury struck him again. He would be keen on finding a permanent solution to his injury woes to pair up with the MVP QB.

It is unclear who will be the most definite choice for Mahomes as the WR. Nevertheless, the QB is willing to take his performance up a notch and win another Super Bowl for the Chiefs. Building a solid offensive lineup will be a challenge for the 26-year-old.
