Patrick Mahomes Pips Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers to Be Named #1 Player in 2021 NFL Top 100 List

Patrick Mahomes established himself as a star ever since taking over from Alex Smith as the starting quarterback of the Kansas City Chiefs. A Super Bowl ring and an MVP award to go along with it, Mahomes has already achieved what most quarterbacks can’t in their lifetime.

But despite his successes, there is one achievement that has evaded Patrick Mahomes. Every year the NFL releases a list of it’s Top 100 players heading into the new season. Voted by the players themselves, the list is known as the NFL Top 100.

But in his Super Bowl winning season and even his MVP year, the Chiefs QB failed to be named the #1 player in the league. Ranked fourth at the start of last season despite guiding his side to a Super Bowl the season before, Mahomes was understandably not very happy about his ranking.

But now, the young quarterback can add another feather to his cap.

Patrick Mahomes named the #1 player in the NFL

While Super Bowl winner Tom Brady was ranked seventh and reigning NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers second, Patrick Mahomes took the crown of being the #1 player in the NFL.

With 4,740 passing yards, 38 touchdowns and a trip to the Super Bowl, Patrick Mahomes was voted by NFL players to be the best in the league.

Some other of his Chiefs teammates who made the cut were wide receiver tight end Travis Kelce (5), Tyreek Hill (15), defensive lineman Chris Jones (34) and Tyrann Mathieu (58).

Still only 25, the quarterback has plenty of time left ahead of him. While this might be his first time on top of the NFL summit, it surely won’t be his last.
