The suspense is building over where DeAndre Hopkins will play next, and one of his potential teammates may have just dropped a clue. Patriots linebacker took to social media to post a cryptic message that could be interpreted as a sign that Hopkins is headed to New England. Bill Belichick, the mastermind behind the Patriots’ dynasty, has shown his willingness to pursue the star receiver, who visited Foxboro recently.

During the visit, Belichick and Hopkins spent a lot of time together, discussing the potential deal that would bring Hopkins to New England. The final call will be up to Belichick, who has the cap space to match Hopkins’ salary expectations. It’s a curious situation that more teams haven’t joined the race for Hopkins, given his talent and availability.

Is there a deal in the works?

The rumor mill is buzzing with the possibility of DeAndre Hopkins joining the New England Patriots, thanks to a cryptic tweet by linebacker Matthew Judon. On June 17, Judon posted three words on his Twitter account: “GM of the year?” Many fans wondered if Judon was hinting at a role in bringing Hopkins to the Patriots, or if he was just trolling them. The speculation was fueled by the fact that Hopkins had visited the Patriots earlier that week, showing mutual interest between the star receiver and the team. The Patriots are known for making surprising moves, such as signing Cam Newton last year. Could they pull off another blockbuster deal and land Hopkins? Some fans were excited by the prospect directly asking Judon, What do you know? 🧐 while some can’t wait for it, writing: “DID WE GET HIM?!” And one fan didn’t believe it and said, “Let’s see the ink on paper first.”

However, nothing is official yet, and both sides are expected to take some time to assess their next steps. Five-time Pro Bowler also has other options, as he visited the Titans last weekend and received an offer from them, not anything officially confirmed. DeAndre Hopkins became a free agent after being cut by the Cardinals on May 30.

Hopkins’ visit results with Titans and Patriots

DeAndre Hopkins is keeping his options open after meeting with both the Titans and the Patriots, who are vying for his services. The Titans showed their persistence by staying in contact with Hopkins while he was in New England, hoping to sway him their way. According to reports, the Patriots have the 15th-most cap space in the NFL, with $14,025,985 to spend. The Patriots, on the other hand, have the advantage of having more cap space and Bill Belichick, who could convince Hopkins to join his team if they can agree on a deal.

Importantly, as sources say Hopkins wants to get paid like Odell Beckham Jr., who landed a lucrative contract with the Ravens in April. However, he is not in a hurry to sign, and he may attract more suitors as he waits for the best offer.
