Patriots Player Has Good First Impression of Mac Jones After OTA

The New England Patriots may have found their new Tom Brady. In the 2021 NFL Draft, the Patriots selected quarterback Mac Jones with their pick. Jones was initially tipped to go in the Top-3 of the draft; however, he fell significantly on draft day.
Falling out of the top-10 into the 15th pick, it was easy pickings for the Pats. Analysts have compared Jones to Tom Brady, which makes his presence in New England only natural.
New England Patriots wide receiver Kendrick Bourne spoke after the team’s first OTA. He had a lot of positive things to say about Patriots’ quarterback Mac Jones.

Bourne noted that Jones exhibited great energy during their initial OTA. Jones is showing a good positive attitude and confidence which is rare among rookies in the league. That kind of confidence is crucial for any quarterback to find success in the NBA.

“Mac, good energy. Awesome guy. You can tell he’s happy to be here. Comes to work and you can just feel his energy and his leadership already.
“He has a swag to him that I didn’t know that he had. He’s out there confident. That’s what you need in our quarterback and all our players…He’s come in with that [confidence] and I feel like that’s going to take him a long way.”
Mac Jones- A future star?
These words will fill Patriots fans with a lot of confidence. While Mac Jones is touted to be one of the best young talents in the league, he isn’t expected to start in the league from the get-go.
New England Patriots Head Coach Bill Belichick has noted that barring any major change, Cam Newton will be starting quarterback for the franchise. But Jones will get his opportunities over the course of the season.
