“People Are Worried”: Prime Time Pat McAfee Drops His Biggest Concern on College Football

The college football landscape is shuffling. With the increased popularity and prime figures like Deion Sanders marking his presence in the collegiate football fraternity are ascending to new heights. Moreover, with the evolution, the football realm that gets the top collegiate teams contending with each other for the national championship gets a shuffle that is not too much admired by Pat McAfee

Analyst Pat McAfee shared his concern about the collegiate football realm losing its specialty, where the major changes are due in the 2024 season. The teams are to switch their conferences and a huge change is occurring in the playoffs drill.

McAfee on his “Pat McAfee Show” revealed how everyone’s worried about minimizing the regular football season. McAfee was involved in a candid conversation with Nick Saban along with AJ Hawk, where the trio emphasized that the playoffs would contain 12 teams instead of four.

Sharing his concern, McAfee stated, “I think a lot of people are also worried about it minimizing the regular season because my first thought about this being like next year you lose to Texas week too. It’s like all good still you know what I mean there’s. 12 spots out there we can still kind of make it happen hopefully. We won’t continue to lose the things that make college football so special I’ve had a chance to experience it the last like a year and a half now.” 

With major teams switching conferences, like USC, UCLA, Oregon, and Washington will join the Big Ten conference from the Pac-12 in 2024.

Collegiate football in a mode of change

In the new format, the six highest-ranked conference teams and the six highest-ranked remaining teams would qualify for the playoffs, making it to a 12-team playoff format. Moreover, the drill of switching from the Pac-12 continues as Arizona, Arizona State, Colorado, and Utah will switch to the Big 12. Oklahoma and Texas switched to the SEC for the 2024 season.

With teams hurdling into the Big 10, the conference will stand at 18 teams, and the Big 12 will stand at 16 teams. However, with time a few more changes can be interpreted. But as of now, the collegiate football season has started, and Coach Prime Deion Sanders is the highlight of the entire landscape. Once struggling with the game, now his team Colorado Buffaloes has two victories and zero defeats in the season, gaining immense anticipation to win its second championship.
