Peyton Manning Got Approval From Kevin Durant To Roast Him Publicly At Award Ceremony In Classy Display From $92 Million Worth NBA Icon

Award shows staples are mean and harmless jokes about another person. And these ribs should stay back at the award shows. However, the NBA star Kevin Durant did not seem to enjoy the quips thrown at him by Peyton Manning. The NFL legend is known for his savage digs at others. Durant became a victim of Manning’s jokes at the 2017 ESPY Awards. It was a significant ouch-moment for KD because he sat straight-faced while the crowd roared at the hilarious joke.

The other staple of that night is the mean mugs, which are an NBA speciality. This is the reason why the speculation that Peyton Manning and Kevin Durant are in on the joke started. Later, ESPN’s Chris Haynes reported that both the athletes, indeed, planned the act.

The joke that got tremendous amounts of laughter from the audience was Durant wanting to wish to join the USA gymnastics team because of their dominance. Kevin Durant has been subjected to criticism. Due to his decision to sign with the Golden State Warriors at the peak of their dynasty while leaving the Oklahoma City Thunder. This decision paid well as Durant won his first championship, along with being named as NBA Finals MVP.

Nobody forgot the joke by Peyton Manning. Hence, on ESPY 2022, he was back with Steph Curry on a video call, a tw0-minute gig. The Hall of Fame quarterback encouraged Curry to reuse his roast of Durant. “Feel free to use that one because it hasn’t aged a day,” said Manning to Steph Curry, who was the host of the glamorous sports night award show. However, Curry chose not to re-use his monologue.

Even though reported by Haynes that the athletes played the joke up for the camera, Durant is to this day not amused. He replied to a tweet that asked why his reaction to the joke was “salty”.
