Peyton Manning Wants His Retirement Presents Back From Tom Brady

When Tom Brady announced his retirement earlier this year, many fans were keen to send their superhero some adorable gifts and thank you messages. Peyton Manning was one of them who bid farewell to the iconic quarterback with a bottle of wine and a handwritten letter.

But these would expire in a matter of 40 days as Brady returned to the game after watching a Manchester United match earlier this month. This news probably upset many who brought expensive gifts for their idol and realized that everything just went in vain.

Peyton Manning’s message for Tom Brady!

On March 13, Brady shared an Instagram post stating his decision to come out of retirement, relieving his fans of the burden they have been carrying since his departure. While for some it was not at all a cherishing moment.

Peyton Manning, one of Brady’s biggest rivals, was surprised to know that the GOAT was coming back to the field. Well, not because he wanted Brady to retire, but for the expensive wine and a handwritten letter he gave to him.

While talking to the media, Manning revealed he was in utter disbelief to know that all his efforts went in vain. He wrote a big letter in his handwriting with some kind words for Brady and his contribution to the game. Since the GOAT made a return, Manning wants all his gifts back now.

The veteran QB and Brady played against each other from 2001 to 2015 and faced off for 17 games. Brady holds an upper hand with an overall record of 11-6 and Manning has a playoff edge with 3-2 against Brady. However, who would have been more hurt than the man who bought Brady’s last touchdown pass ball for a huge sum.

Brady’s last game in the 2021 season was against Los Angeles Rams in the NFC divisional round. He heaved a 55-yard touchdown pass to Mike Evans. And the ball proved to be the last touchdown pass of his career.

As Brady never showed on a return, his last touchdown ball was auctioned with a starting bid at $100,000. After a long bid war between 23 people, the ball was finally sold for $518,628, making it one of the most expensive deals in the history of the NFL.

Brady’s first career touchdown pass came while he was playing for the New England Patriots. The same ball was auctioned off on the site last year for $428,841. Well, not a big deal for the guy who purchased the ball because he will receive the final touchdown ball once Brady finally retires in the future!
