One of the most anticipated TV series of all time is finally here! Produced by Peyton Manning‘s Omaha Production, the docu-series titled ‘Quarterback’ hit the screens only a few days ago. It’s 8-episode limited series featuring three top-tier quarterbacks from the league, including the league’s one and only, Patrick Mahomes. However, the initial hype diminished within a week.

The most awaited series sits with only a few hundred ratings, minimal engagements, and little to no discussions in the NFL community. This raises the question of whether the show could benefit from an uplift, and if there’s a specific reason for the viewer’s withdrawal.

Did Peyton Manning make a mistake with the cast?

The Sheriff’s passion project is worth $40 million. With the Chiefs‘ star quarterback Mahomes, alongside Kirk Cousins and Marcus Mariota, the series seems to be jam-packed. With the 2x MVP on the center, the story progresses around all three QBs’ personal struggles and triumphs. It provides a fairly entertaining experience for some. Nevertheless, there’s still something missing, precisely what the audience craves. Surely, it’s the presence of the GOAT QB, Tom Brady.

If there’s a quarterback in the league who knows the struggle, it’s Brady. From the 199th pick to 7 Super Bowl rings, he is the epitome of excellence, yet the GOAT was absent in the series. Despite the title, Mannings’ production featured only one Super Bowl winning quarterback, turning the show into a huge hit and a miss. The series has its moments, including diving deep into Mahomes’ injury, and even Mariota and Cousins’ life struggles. However, it had evident room for improvement, hence the Brady argument.

TB12 has had a successful screen-time presence over the years, not only featuring in box office films but also in his own series, which is talked about to this day.

One of Tom Brady’s movies made $40.4 million

Although there haven’t been many releases from Brady’s side post-retirement, he surely left his mark, with numerous appearances on both TV shows and even cinemas. His hilarious cameo in ‘Ted 2′ is a blessing for the fans, the same movie that made over $200 million. His own passion project ’80s for Brady’ also grossed over $40 million in theaters. Another of his love child, ‘Man in the Arena,’ was a huge success amongst the fans, and also sits with 8.6 ratings on IMDB.

There is no certainty if the docu-series would have been a hit with the presence of Brady. However, it’s clear that it had room for improvement. With the shift of entertainment to the online realm, it will be interesting to see if a similar docu-series will be developed in the near future.
