Philadelphia Eagles’ Super Bowl-winning running back Jay Ajayi finally decided to let go of his NFL career after two dry seasons. During his career in the league rushed for 2,546 yards in 63 receptions and scored a total of 13 rushing touchdowns. However, his most memorable ones were those 57 yards which he gained during his Super Bowl LII win against Tom Brady’s New England Patriots.

And since the one time Pro Bowler was an integral part of the Eagles’ offense during their championship campaign, it was only better for him to get retired in the Lincoln Financial Field. And so the 28-year-old returned to his home field for the 2021 season finale game against the Dallas Cowboys to serve as the honorary captain.

“The Linc is a special place,” Ajayi told the Eagles’ website. “The fans, they’re amazing. They either love you or they hate you, but they’re going to give you what it is. And that’s what I liked, keeping it real with me 100 percent of the time. I loved it there.”
