President Joe Biden set the NFL world ablaze after he picked up a side in the Super Bowl showdown between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles.

The Chiefs and the Eagles squared off at the State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. And the President joined the NFL world in celebrating the football extravaganza.

President Joe Biden weighed in on the Super Bowl on Sunday. And he surprised almost everyone when he publicly picked up a team to support. The POTUS is going with the Eagles from Philadelphia. And he has a good reason to do so, his wife Dr. Jill Biden.

“As your president, I’m not picking favorites. But as Jill Biden’s husband, fly Eagles, fly,” the POTUS wrote in a tweet.

The First lady is a big Eagles fan and never shies away from a show of support. She even got a custom Eagles jersey before the big game. But all the support from the White House wasn’t enough to get the Eagles over the line in the showdown.

The Eagles’ flight was cut short 

The Eagles led Super Bowl LVII all the way to the fourth quarter. And it looked like a win was on cards for them. But Patrick Mahomes just exploded in the final quarter to take the Vince Lombardi trophy home.

The Chiefs trailed 27-21 when they went into the fourth quarter. And their offense went all out and snatched the victory on the big day.

Mahomes threw 182 passing yards in the game, but he managed to throw three touchdown passes. He also gained 44 yards with his legs. And Harrison Butker won it again for them with a game-winning field goal, just like he did in the AFC championship game two weeks ago.

The Kelce Bowl went to Travis Kelce and the White House household will be a little glum at the moment. The Chiefs are the team to beat till Mahomes is under center.
