“Pounded it all”: 265 lbs Retired Beast Rob Gronkowski Unveils His Unprecedented Post-workout Meal

You are what you eat. This is precisely what drives most NFL players who demand high-performance levels both on and off the court. Former Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Rob Gronkowski- AKA Gronk” is no stranger to appropriating his body to elite standards of fitness. In a recent Instagram video, he offered a sneak peek into his post-workout meal box, custom-curated by The System8. 

Biomechanist Adam Boily, the man behind The System8, an elite athletic training brand based in Florida, reveals his experience formulating tailored training programs for some of the top athletes in the NFL, Gonk included.

Regarded as one of the most extraordinary tight ends of all time, the four-time Super Bowl champion retired from professional football in March 2019 at the age of 29. He was reported to be “not in a good place” mentally and continuing to play football adversely affected his situation. 

Following his retirement, in a conversation with CNBC Make It, Gonk declares, “I feel like I’ve definitely transformed ever since I stopped playing football. I feel like I transformed in a better way,”

He has imbibed numerous dietary, training, and dietary patterns from former Patriots teammate Tom Brady, which includes mental training through Sudoku, intermediate fasting, and a strict largely plant-based diet. The changes that he incorporated have helped him shed 10 to 15 pounds.

In a recent Instagram Story, the 30-year-old star tight end reposted a story shared by Adam Boily, which demonstrated all the important ingredients used to prepare his power-packed post-workout meal. 

The original story put up by Boily was captioned, “The greatest meal post workout for the great @gronk @thesystem8 Adam Boily” and featured a list of ingredients- wild bacon, wild mangrove honey, organic sweet potato, organic watermelon, Italian raw cheese, organic blueberries, organic pickles, organic mustard/ketchup. 

Gonk reposted saying, “SO GOOOD!! POUNDED IT ALL I NEED THE FUEL TO KEEP GOING!”

The“fuel” that keeps pro athletes going 

The brand behind Gonk’s exceptional physical fitness is a fairly new brand based out of Florida. Boily has great experience in the fitness world and has trained some of the top athletes in the NFL including Jonathan Taylor, Rob Gronkowski, and Odell Beckham Jr. Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor who also trained at The System8 was able to push his boundaries, and achieve new heights this offseason and praised the training program he underwent there, “Everything is built around what you, specifically, need.”
