In her book, Gisele Bündchen looks back to the time when they admitted her twin sister Pati to the hospital due to a severe illness. She recollected how her sister could not even talk and needed the help of oxygen tubes in order to breathe properly. This was a scary moment in Gisele’s life, as her twin sister was always with her. 

She wrote, “My twin sister Pati had been by my side my whole life, and all of a sudden she wasn’t. I was devastated. When Pati was in the hospital, I promised to pray to God every night for her to heal. Praying was the only thing that comforted me. Life seemed suddenly so fragile, as though it could break apart in a moment, just like that.”
