On paper, Cleveland Browns seem to be one of the better teams in the NFL. They boast of some impressive names such as Myles Garrett, Odell Beckham Jr, Jarvis Landry, Nick Chubb, and of course, quarterback Baker Mayfield.

The Browns registered a 6-10 record in the NFL last season. This was their 12th consecutive losing season in the league. Mayfield, who was the number one draft pick in 2018, had a dismal outing in his second full season in the league last year.

Is this a make or break season for Baker Mayfield?

“He’s made it clear, he’s been working harder and talking softer this offseason in an effort to bounce back from last year’s disaster of a season. Baker is now entering year three.

“NFL network’s Patrick Claybon says this is the ‘put up or shut up’ year for the former number one overall pick,” Marcellus Wiley said on the show.

The former Heisman Trophy winner was tipped as the next big thing in the NFL back in 2018. However, he has failed to live up to those expectations for now.

New Head Coach Kevin Stefanski has brought in veteran NFL QB Case Keenum as a backup for Mayfield this season. Stefanski worked with Keenum when the latter was with the Minnesota Vikings.

Case led the Vikings to the NFC Championship game back in 2017.

Mayfield threw for 3,000+ yards in his first two NFL seasons. However, his pass completion rate is just 65.1. The former Oklahoma Sooners man will definitely have to step up his performances if he wants to remain with the Browns for longer.

“Now, I’m worried, I’m cautious and I’m over concerned that Baker is in trouble. If y’all think that Baker ain’t in trouble, Marcellus, you’re lying,” Emmanuel Acho said on Speak For Yourself.
