Is Zach Wilson’s career as the New York Jets QB over? The Jets made a solid comeback against the Bears this Sunday after losing terribly against the Patriots in the week 11 game. Notably, Jets quarterback Zach Wilson did not play against the Bears after a horrendous game against the Patriots. As a result of his poor performances, the head coach of the Jets, Robert Saleh, dropped him for the Bears game.

After the game against the Patriots, Wilson did not take any accountability for his poor performance at the press conference. Against the Bears, HC Saleh started Mike White instead of Wilson, which proved to be the right decision.

Zach Wilson may have played his last game for the Jets
In the latest episode of ‘In The Huddle’ podcast, NFL Insider Jason La Canfora talked about Wilson’s situation at the Jets team. “He doesn’t have a future there… He lost his job to Mike effing White. You think he wants to be there? No. No! His agents say ‘You took this kid second overall, and that’s the look you gave him? That’s how little you believe in him?’ No. It’s over. I don’t know what they get for him, but it’s over,” La Canfora said.

La Canfora believes that even if the Jets have a lot of injuries, they will still not start Wilson in future games. Instead, they will play the veteran quarterback, Joe Flacco. The whole thing started with Wilson talking about the Jets’ defense in the post-game press conference. When asked if he let the defense down, he gave a blunt answer and said ‘no’. The 2-time Super Bowl champion and former NFL defensive end, Chris Long, called it ‘shameful’. Many still believe this press conference was the main reason the HC dropped him against the Bears.

What has led to Wilson’s time with the Jets possibly coming to an end?
Notably, after the loss against the Patriots, Wilson received plenty of criticism for his performance. In that game, he completed just 9 of 22 passes and threw only 77 yards. Moreover, he was sacked 4 times in the game, which they lost by 10-3.

This season as a whole has not been great for him. In 7 games so far, he threw 1279 yards for merely 4 touchdowns. In the previous game against the Bears, his replacement, Mike White, threw 3 touchdowns, and almost touched Wilson’s numbers in one game. It’s pretty clear that the Jets don’t see him in their plans. Right now, they are focusing on this season, as they are still on the hunt for the playoffs. With 7 wins and 4 losses, the Jets are currently in third place in the AFC East division.
