Raiders Star Davante Adams Fined Heavily for NSFW Reasons

In the third quarter, Denver Broncos safety, Justin Simmons, made contact with the Raiders receiver Davante Adams’ head and neck during an incomplete pass. Adams was defenseless after a Broncos linebacker swatted the ball away. The NFL confirmed the officials were unaware of the illegal hit. 

As a result, the league penalized Simmons $15,914 for uncalled roughness after the collision. However, the 29-year-old who was the target of force also received a punishment.

The five-time Pro Bowler yelled at back judge Dino Paganelli; he got flagged for his unsportsmanlike behavior. The league fined him $29,785 for using foul language. It also cost the team a 15-yard penalty. 

Davante Adams turned into a beast against the Broncos

The Las Vegas Raiders QB Derek Carr took over his rival QB, Russell Wilson. On the third play of overtime, Carr connected with a wide-open Davante Adams for a 35-yard touchdown throw. The game-winning throw helped the Raiders to a 22-16 win over the Denver Broncos.

Although Denver started off strongly, it couldn’t last for long. They started with a seven-play, 92-yard drive. It included a 33-yard catch that was followed by a one-yard touchdown. The Broncos established a 7-0 lead in the first quarter.

In the second quarter, the Broncos added a field goal before a Davante Adams touchdown. That made the score 10-7. Melvin Gordon’s fumble took his team off the tracks. That happened in the Raiders’ three-yard line on the third down.

In the third quarter, the Raiders added a field goal. Then in the fourth quarter, both teams were 13-13. Denver took a late lead by kicking a third field goal. The score was 16-13. When 1:43 was remaining on the clock, the Broncos’ defense had to defend a three-point lead.

Carr then completed a 21-yard pass and a 43-yard pass. This helped his team get down the seven-yard line. The rival team’s defense kicked a field goal that evened out the score, 16-16. This sent the game into overtime.

Las Vegas possessed the ball in OT. That is when Davante Adams made the game-winning drive.
