Rapper Kanye West has gained media attention for all sorts of reasons. But, once he tried to set up a meeting between former president Donald Trump and former 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick. But why did the rap icon want to set up a meet at the White House?
Rapper Kanye West in an interview with the ‘TMZ Live’ said, “I been calling Colin this morning, reaching him so I can bring Colin to the White House, and we can remove that ‘sons of b*tches’ statement, and we can be on the same page.”

In 2018, Trump used the phrase while referring to the NFL players who were kneeling during the national anthem in protest of social injustice and police brutality. Kaepernick was one of the first NFL players to have to kneel during the national anthem.

Kanye West, who supported Trump, wanted to clear the air on the whole issue and wanted to set up a meeting with Trump and Kaepernick at the White House.

During the interview, Harvey Levin asked West, “Do you give up on somebody growing when they are unrelenting at a point?” The legendary rapper replied, “We never give up on anyone.” West told TMZ. “Let me even make that more positive, we move forward, we give love, we keep going, we keep having the conversation until the conversation turns to love.”
In the whole interview, Kanye West was seen wearing a Make America Great Again cap. Ye has been a Trump supporter, and in December 2016, he also met the then-President Trump in New York City. According to the rapper, the two discussed education, violence in Chicago, and multicultural issues.

Colin Kaepernick played his last game in the 2016 season, after which he went unsigned and remains a free agent. He has played six seasons with the San Francisco 49ers and has appeared in one Super Bowl game in 2013. Recently, he got a chance to do a workout with the Las Vegas Raiders. But, whether he will play as a backup quarter with the Raiders is still unclear, and there has been no official statement by the team.
