Recently, an old childhood photograph of Mahomes has surfaced on the internet, which is going viral across social media.

Patrick Mahomes Sr. was a professional baseball pitcher, playing in the MLB from 1992 to 2003. In the 2000 world series, Mahomes Sr. played a crucial role for the Mets and thus understands what it’s like to play at the highest level of the sport.

And certainly, he is proud of his son. While Mahomes Jr. is enjoying life along with his one-year-old daughter Sterling Skye, an iconic photograph from his childhood along with his dad was recently shared by a fan. And guess what? He looks so adorable and resembles his daughter in many ways.

The quarterback’s inclination towards baseball and other sports came from his athletic dad and a supportive mom who supported him to pursue the game seriously. While he was in high school, Mahomes played baseball, basketball, and football simultaneously, switching between the seasons. However, in the end, during his junior year, he had to make a choice.

Fortunately, he decided to pursue the game of football seriously. And exactly one year later, Mahomes got drafted into the NFL. After signing a hefty $450 million contract in 2020, the quarterback recalled the moment when his father called him and asked him if he felt anything different. Well, the answer was a big NO, Mahomes is still the same. He just got better at his game.

One of the biggest blessings for the gunslinger is that he has a cool father who makes sure to remain available to support his son from behind. And as far as the picture is concerned, fans couldn’t control their emotions.

In one of the interviews, Mahomes Sr. mentioned that he motivates his son even today. “Wherever he is, he knows I’m going to be there,” the elder Mahomes said. “I tell him, ‘Players make plays, and I love you. That’s the thing we’ve had since he was 7 or 8 years old. I tried to reinforce it every game, whether it was two games a week in baseball or basketball or one game a week in football,” he added.
