It was a proud moment this Saturday for Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin. The veteran watched his son Dino play a memorable game for the Boston College Eagles in their Spring fixture. However, while the wide receiver’s pass-catching was impressive for the spectators, Dino may have irked his father with his end zone celebration dance.

Mike Tomlin took to Twitter later to express his exact sentiments about his son’s touchdown celebration mannerism. And while the touchdown score did eventually overshadow the celebration shenanigans, Dino must take this lesson to heart when considering other future NFL head coaches he might have to face or play under in the future.

Dino upsets Mike Tomlin’s inner coach

Boston College passer Emmett Morehead threw a score to three-star recruit, Dino Tomlin from the 2-yard line on a second-and-goal. After converting the score, the 6 ft 180 pounds pass catcher broke out the dance moves.
When you can dance like that, you might as well be targeted in the red zone,” the ACC commentators said about Dino’s dance.

When the camera panned to his father and the youngest Super Bowl-winning head coach in the NFL, Mike Tomlin, he seemed to be pleased with his son’s gameplay. However, Mike’s tweet painted a different picture of his son’s dance celebration. “The Dad in me finds this quite funny. The coach in me, not so much! Lol,” Mike tweeted after the game.

The official NFL Instagram post had some hilarious reactions though. “He’s happy for his son, but the dancing reminds him of Juju,” one fan commented. Another Steelers fan wrote, “First time we’ve ever seen him [Mike] smile.” Fans were curious to know more about the celebration style. “What’s the celebration he’s doing?” one asked. “What’s wrong with the dancing? Those were some nice dance moves,” one supporter chimed in.

Can we see Dino in the NFL soon?

Going into his senior year as a Redshirt, Dino will be taking on the WR1 role for the Eagles after Zay Flowers enrolled for the NFL draft. Flowers will in all probability go as one of the first-round picks on April 28’s draft day. After three years in Maryland, Dino transferred to Boston College in 2022. He put on 10 receptions over 181 receiving yards in his first season with the Eagles. And Tomlin Jr. has an uphill task ahead in 2023. “He’s [Mike Tomlin] gonna draft his son in the first round,” one fan predicted. A lot of that will depend on Dino’s performance this year and any new end-zone celebrations the Pittsburgh boy has up his sleeves.
