Burrow twisted his right knee on his seventh sack of the evening early in the last quarter. The awkward twist caused Burrow to stay down on the turf before limping off the field. However, he did not opt for medical attention but came back in the huddle, refusing to let go of the game.

The Bengals ended up losing the game after the Rams’ notorious defensive tackle Aaron Donald tackled the young QB denying him a one-yard connect to first down. Burrow was sacked a total number of seven times, creating an unwanted piece of history by becoming the most sacked QB in Super Bowl, tying with Roger Staubach in Super Bowl X.

It is a bullet well dodged by the Cincinnati Bengals. Burrow, who suffered a terrible ACL injury in his debut season, took a long time to heal from it completely. Any further injuries to the knee could have proved fatal for the QB’s future with the franchise. However, the star player is believed to recover from the sprain in a couple of weeks.

It is a good sign for Joey and the Bengals, as they will have a much more productive offseason this time. Burrow has proved his toughness all year long, which has also impressed even the GOAT Tom Brady. He will be back even tougher next season.

Meanwhile, the Bengals have to figure out ways to reduce the number of hits on Burrow. The Cincy QB took 70 sacks (51 in the regular season) during his 2021-2022 campaign. These numbers are already alarming for the team since the quarterback is so exposed.

Yet it’s impressive how Burrow has still led the Bengals through to the biggest game of the year.
