Indianapolis Colts head coach Frank Reich and one-time Super Bowl champion Nick Foles are going to be on the same side. The Colts are about to sign a deal with Nick Foles who will be a backup quarterback for the team. Recently, Colts had also signed QB Matt Ryan to play for their side. Earlier this month, the Chicago Bears released Nick Foles and now he is ready to join his 6th NFL club.

Frank Reich and QB Nick Foles have a history together. Frank was the Eagle’s offensive coordinator when Nick replaced injured Carson Wentz and went on to play at his position. Nick further led the team to their first-ever Super Bowl win in 2017. As of now, both of them reunite, they will again tend to create history, this time for the Colts.

The Colts are definitely in a luck, as Nick Foles joins the team with his former offensive coordinator. Foles has taken coaching from Reich so he must already be familiar with the game plan Reich follows. If by any chance, Ryann faces some difficulties or has to go down because of an injury, then the Colts have a backup who can execute the offense in the best possible way.

Nick Foles is among the two players to defeat Tom Brady in Super Bowl

Foles won the Super Bowl MVP for his extraordinary performance in 2017. He did not achieve a lot of success in the later seasons when he played for the Jacksonville Jaguars. Jaguars had acquired him on a 4-year, $88 million contract that lasted only for 1-year.

Next, Nick went to Chicago Bears where he was a backup but he got to play the game in the mid-season. Later, due to an injury, he has to miss several games. In the Year 2021, he just made one appearance for the Bears which helped them beat the Seahawks. In his last game, Foles completed 24 of 35 passes (68.6%) for 250 yards. He completed a passing touchdown and had no interceptions with a 98.5 passer rating.

Additionally, in the NFL history, only two QBs have been able to beat Tom Brady in the Super Bowl. One is Nick Foles and the other is QB Eli Manning. Also, Matt Ryan played a Super Bowl LI against the New England Patriots but ended up in a defeat. Matt Ryan, Nick Foles, and HC Frank Reich being on the same side should be a motivation for the team to achieve new feats.
