Cleveland Browns QB Baker Mayfield’s future is stuck, and there has been no outcome of the trade he had requested. According to the Cleveland.com reporter Mary Kay Cabot, the Browns are not looking to cut loose Baker Mayfield. The Seahawks and the Panthers have kept their eye on the Brown’s QB, but no new agreement has been made.

Carolina Panthers came up with the talks about trading Baker with the Browns. But, the team still hasn’t come to a mutual agreement among themselves, and the chances of Baker joining the Panthers remain low.

The Charlotte Observer had stated that were trade talks between the Panthers and the Browns during the NFL draft. The two parties couldn’t come to a conclusion, and the deal went off. Carolina wanted the Browns to pay $13-14 million of Mayfield’s 2022 salary.

In March, Baker had told ESPN’s Adam Schefter, “It’s in the mutual interest of both sides for us to move on. The relationship is too far gone to mend. It’s in the best interests of both sides to move on.” Baker had confirmed he had formally requested a trade deal, which the Browns later rejected.

The Browns have signed a 5-year deal worth $230 million with the former Texan’s QB Deshaun Watson. They also acquired Jacoby Brissett as a backup to Watson. Despite having the two quarterbacks, the Browns have still held on to Baker Mayfield. What are the Browns planning for Mayfield, who happened to be the No. 1 overall pick in the 2018 NFL draft?
