It’s not just Jerry Jones. The Dallas Cowboys organization is also a defendant in the personal injury lawsuit. And the plaintiff also sued the National Football League, but it didn’t show in the latest complaint report. And these strong accusations against Jones will surely build up a storm for the 80-year-old.

The details surrounding the lawsuit

The incident behind the lawsuit from September 16, 2018, involved Jerry Jones allegedly grabbing the plaintiff forcibly and kissing her “on the mouth without her consent.” And the Cowboys organization also finds itself involved since the said incident took place at their home ground, the AT&T Stadium. The lawsuit also claimed that the Dallas Cowboys “knew or should have known of Jones’ misconduct.”

The plaintiff, who initially remained anonymous, and later on only revealed herself as J.G., failed to abide by a special exemption order regulation. Jerry’s lawyers wanted “fully identifying information” and the exact specific location of the incident. The plaintiff’s attorneys emailed the name and exact location of the incident, which happened to be the Tom Landry Room. But, despite that, the Dallas county district court judge dismissed the case in February 2022 with prejudice.

However, luckily, the higher appellate Texas court reviewed the proceedings and reversed the initial dismissal. The plaintiff “made a good faith attempt to amend her pleadings and the trial court abused its discretion in dismissing appellant’s claims,” the reversal paperwork said, according to the first reports from the Dallas Morning News.

What did Jerry Jones have to say about this?

According to the lawsuit, plaintiff J.G. suffered extreme emotional agony, “psychological pain and suffering”, and added medical expenses. And her attorney, Thomas Daniel Bowers, is extremely pleased with the reversal decision. “We always knew we were going to win because the law was on our side. A victim’s finally going to get her day in court, and that’s very important,” he told the Morning News outlet reporters.

However, Jerry Jones’ attorneys have flat-out denied the accusations with the billionaire labeling it as “hurtful and malicious” in the response filed with the court. But the reversal means a trial and a deposition for Jones, according to Bowers.

Jerry Jones also fought a paternity dispute last year. And add to that the racially charged desegregation photo from his high school days. His reputation has taken quite a hit these past years. And Jerry will look to stay out of trouble in 2023 after settling the case at hand.
