Drew Brees might be out of the game, but he is still associated with well-known companies. One of these companies is PointsBet Sportsbook. When the ex-New Orleans Saints QB, who is the brand ambassador of the betting website, was shooting a commercial in Venezuela, he suffered one of the most horrifying moments of his life. The Super Bowl XLIV MVP got hit by a lightning strike. The visuals looked shocking, and it was indeed a scary situation.

Is the lightning strike video featuring ex-NFL QB Drew Brees a fake?
The situation surrounding Drew Brees looked scary. However, some reports called the video a promotional stunt and a fake. PointsBet Sportsbook decided to do a marketing ploy starring their brand ambassador to publicize their Lightning Bets. The entire video was staged, and the former QB is safe.

The betting platform then shared a video of Drew Brees inside an ambulance working to promote the free lightning bets. However, when he exited the vehicle to wrap up the commercial shoot, a lightning bolt hit him for the second time.
Call it a fake video or a marketing stunt. It is a clever way to promote their products.
