REPORTS: Green Bay Packers Find a Way to Keep Aaron Rodgers and Stay Financially Afloat If He Decides to Stay

The future of Aaron Rodgers is still the most anticipated thing in the world of the NFL today. The Packers are trying their best to make the quarterback stay. They are not ready to part ways with the franchise player. Rodgers wants to explore other options this offseason. 

At this point, the Green Bay Packers seem desperate to keep the quarterback. In a last-ditch effort, they are even ready to come up with a small-term deal. It could favor Rodgers. Could this deal make Aaron Rodgers stay a little bit longer with the green and gold side?

Aaron Rodgers to become the highest-paid player in the league?

NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport made a report on Monday. He said that the Packers and Aaron Rodgers are supposedly working on a deal together. It would decide the fate of Rodgers in Green Bay. If everything goes well, we could see the quarterback return to Lambeau Field next season.

On NFL Total Access, the insider said, “Nothing is done, but they are having discussions,” Rapoport continues, “They are having negotiations to have a deal, hopefully for them, ready to go if and when Aaron Rodgers firmly and finally decides that he wants to return.”

Ian Rapoport states that the deal would be short term. And on a per-year basis, it could make Rodgers the highest-paid player in the NFL. It seems like the Packers are ready to go to any extent to keep the 38-year-old quarterback. The QB is the center of a football team. Green Bay has modeled itself around Rodgers. So until his situation is certain, they cannot make any changes to the squad. 

Would Rodgers stay in Wisconsin?

Aaron Rodgers has said that he does not wish to be a part of a rebuilding squad. The quarterback wants to win the Super Bowl again before he retires. In order to do that, Rodgers would not shy away from a trade.

Previously, the quarterback has also hinted at retiring. Nothing came out of it. For now, Rodgers is a part of the Packers. The 2021 season ended on good terms between the Packers and Rodgers.
