During the Phoenix Super Bowl week, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said “As far as the [sale] process, the Commanders are under a process,”. “That’s their process. Ultimately if they reach a conclusion and have someone that will be joining the ownership group or buying the team entirely, that’s something that the ownership will look at.

With Jeff Bezos in the mix, it seems certain that the Washington Commanders are on their way to getting a new owner, and for good reason. The past management had faced their fair share of allegations, and it could be a good cultural reset for the organization.

The Washington Connection

Despite his mind-boggling capital, there is one hindrance for Jeff Bezos in bringing the Washington Commanders under his umbrella. And that would be the Commanders’ embattled owner, Dan Snyder. The Washington Post uncovered a series of toxic work culture stories around the Commanders, even accusing Snyder of enabling sexual harassment.

But how does this tie back to Jeff Bezos?

Well, Bezos is the current owner of The Washington Post and Snyder believes that Bezos was responsible for the manhunt sent their way. As it currently stands, Bezos is supposedly looking to make up space for the NFL team by selling the Washington Post, which he acquired in 2013 for $250 million.
