Lionel Richie is a well-known name across the music industry. The American singer-songwriter has dished out several hits in the R&B genre. A face that is familiar in every household, except in the eyes of quarterback Lamar Jackson, or so at it seems. From being engrossed in the NFL for such a long time, not keeping tabs on other aspects of life might be understandable on his part.

But the quarterback, dubbed as the ‘smiling man’, said he thought that Richie was the person who played the father figure of Meek and Terry in BMF. This had left the fans divided on Twitter. While some developed a sour taste in their mouth because of this blissful ignorance, others laughed it off as a classic joke.
Here are some of the reactions of the fans on his Twitter.

A memorable lesson for Jackson
There are not a lot of quarterbacks in the game, who prove themselves in their rookie seasons. But Jackson managed to prove himself pretty well on the field with the Baltimore Ravens.
Even if his future with the team remains shrouded in uncertainty, he still manages to be the center of attraction both on the field and off. This time, Lamar almost caught himself up in a mess. With the ignorance shown towards Lionel Richie, the possibility of him staining his own reputation grew.
But after the chaos, calmness soon followed. As the young gun owned up to his honest mistake, it seems like harmony has finally settled in, and fans will look back with laughter towards this almost drastic episode.
