The New Orleans Saints are in talks to bring back the Pro Bowl running back Mark Ingram. On Wednesday, multiple sources reported of the trade talks between Houston Texans and New Orleans Saints, the club where it all began for the star athlete ten years ago.

According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, the deal is still in its final stages and the trade is about to happen. Ingram is expected to be traded by late-round future picks, which would be an easy bargain for the Saints to bring him together with his best buddy Alvin Kamara.

Mark Ingram and his phenomenal effect

The Saints drafted the 31-year-old three-time Pro Bowler as the No. 28 overall pick in the 2011 NFL Draft, following a monumental run with the University of Alabama including a Heisman Trophy in 2009. During his eight seasons with the Saints, the running back rushed for 6,007 yards and 50 touchdowns, making it to the Pro Bowl three times (2014, 2017, 2019).

Ingram following his trade with the Baltimore Ravens ahead of the 2019 season started off the season with a blast as they became the top rushing offense in the NFL. That season he recorded 1,265 yards from rushing and 15 touchdowns.
