Denver Broncos signal-caller Russell Wilson has a couple of sinister accusations levied against him from his time with the Seahawks. And after a speculation-filled year with nothing to show for on the field as well, Wilson couldn’t just sit back and allow the rumors to take shape. He opened up on the issue.

Apparently, Wilson and former Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll weren’t as chummy as it looked. And insiders claim that there was more to it than met the eye. The Super Bowl XLVIII MVP tweeted his take on the false reports.

What did Russell Wilson allegedly do?

According to anonymous league sources that spoke to The Athletic, Russell Wilson wanted the Seahawks to part ways with head coach Pete Carroll and general manager John Schneider. This alleged request came in February 2022, when Wilson thought the HC-GM combination was obstructing his former glory. Instead, Russ wanted former New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton to take charge.

However, things didn’t exactly work out Russell’s way as the Seahawks released him instead. Seattle traded Wilson to the Denver Broncos in exchange for five first and second-round picks and three players, including their backup QB to Geno Smith, Drew Lock.

Now in the Broncos Orange Crush, Super Bowl champion Wilson still shares a ton of love and respect for the Seattle Seahawks organization. Danger Russ vehemently denied the reports. And fans want him to ignore the negativity and rumor-mongering.

Wilson finally had his wish granted in Denver

However, the Denver Broncos succumbed to Russell’s long-time desire to play under Sean Payton.

After a dismal 5-12 season with the worst offensive points per game in the league, Wilson didn’t exactly deliver on the expectations. And with a $245 million four-year contract extension, Wilson wasn’t about to face the repercussions of this disaster. It had to be former HC and current NY Jets offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett, who was let go after 15 games into the season.

The Broncos hired Payton to bring back the championship. Furthermore, he has already established his dominance after dismissing Russell Wilson’s private coaching staff from the facility.

Also, Payton settled with Vance Joseph for the defensive coordinator role this week. Sean also interviewed Rex Ryan and Matt Patricia for the job. And it looks as though Payton, Wilson and the Broncos are steadily building a well-paved road to the championship.
