Aaron Rodgers has always toed the line of falling into trouble for his off-court antics. The QB has been a magnet for controversy and news owing to his unpopular and often controversial opinions combined with his busy public and social life. Now, Rodgers is involved in another contentious happening. Except, this time, the controversy doesn’t come from Aaron Rodgers himself.

The controversy stems from the tweet of politician and lawyer, John F Kennedy’s nephew, Robert Kennedy Jr. Rodgers has been a major supporter of Robert Kennedy, especially as the two share similar opinions over many things. But the politician is now locking horns with one of the richest men on Earth, and Aaron Rodgers has landed himself bang in the middle.

Aaron Rodgers extends support to Kennedy over ‘Mosquito Controversy’?

Robert Kennedy Jr. has never been one to shy away from inviting controversy. But the politician decided to dig into none other than Bill Gates this time. Responding to a tweet about Gates’ Columbian ‘Mosquito’ Factories, Kennedy brought up the ‘immoral’ nature of the factory releasing up to 30 million genetically modified mosquitos.

Rodgers, too, joined in unison as the New York Jets QB was seen liking the tweet from his own Twitter account. Given the friendship and support between Kennedy and Rodgers, it’s easy to see Rodgers backing up his friend on a controversial opinion by liking the tweet. But the larger question at hand is – what in the world is the whole mosquito factory about?

Explaining the bizarre mosquito factory run by Bill Gates

While it may seem bizarre to release millions of mosquitoes onto the world, that isn’t quite the story at hand. Bill Gates isn’t really a supervillain mastermind who is releasing genetically modified mosquitoes to wreak havoc but is actually apparently helping stop the rampant spread of disease in tropical areas of the world.

Starting with his Columbia factory, the $116 Billion dollar worth Microsoft founder is apparently using genetically modified mosquitoes to control the spread of mosquito-borne diseases. The modified mosquitoes are injected with a bacteria that deters the spread of deadly diseases like dengue. Through this method, the Gates Foundation aims at controlling the spread of diseases in tropic areas which are home to a world of deadly vector-borne diseases.
