Russell Wilson possesses the optimism of the entire league combined. After offering little to no reassurance of the Broncos finding some semblance of success, the QB’s recent statements are quite laughable. While Wilson was supposed to be the Broncos’ ticket to taking the AFC West, the QB may have led them in the opposite direction. Denver will find itself at the bottom of their division at the end of the regular season.

Wilson and the Broncos are already the laughing stocks of the league. So it comes as no surprise that his most recent statements did nothing but stoke an already burning fire.

For someone who is at rock bottom, Russell Wilson dreams big
In conversation with DNVR’s Zac Steven, Wilson made a statement that was too optimistic for the liking of the NFL world.
Russell Wilson: “Hopefully we can win a ring or two or more”

The QB has always had a glass-half-full mentality. He said, “Hopefully we can win a ring or two or more.” But with the perpetual disappointment he’s caused this season, there’s no doubt that fans are unimpressed with the QB.

Being optimistic is not a crime. But Wilson’s inability to set rational goals that don’t sound outlandish to the NFL community is getting wearisome. And fans let the QB know that his comment was not convincing in the slightest.

The NFL world is very honest, especially with regard to Wilson
The NFL world can be brutally honest, especially when things don’t add up. Wilson, who has borne the brunt of heavy criticism this season, will find himself in the middle of yet another hunting season. And this time, fans didn’t even attempt to pull back from taking shots.
This user was brutally honest but softened the blow with a hilarious image.

How about making it to the playoffs first? Don’t over-promise and under-achieve. Do it the other way. Your PR is going to put many jobs on the line like it did this season.

For someone who was supposed to be the Broncos’ weapon against divisional rival Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs, to say the QB has been unsuccessful would be an understatement. With the Broncos at 4-12, Wilson is already teetering too close to being canceled by Broncos Nation. Perhaps the QB will have to resort to exhibiting progress on the field instead of making these proclamations. While Wilson and the Broncos are in it for the long haul, fans will hope that they won’t have to see a repeat of this season again.
