A few weeks back, the world saw one of the most heartbreaking scenes in sports history as Bills‘ safety Damar Hamlin collapsed on the ground due to a cardiac injury. As the world is trying to recover from that incident, fans at the Raymond James Stadium witnessed a similar sort of incident when the Bucs wide receiver Russell Gage suffered an awful neck injury during the Wild Card Round game on Monday night between the Buccaneers and the Cowboys.
Notably, the incident took place late in the fourth quarter, as Tom Brady tried to find the WR Gage through a bullet pass. However, Gage missed the ball, and the Cowboys’ safety, Donovan Wilson’s right arm hit straight into Gage’s neck. Immediately, the medical staff rushed toward him, as he looked in visible pain; he was trying hard to get back, but could not. The game had to be stopped for a considerable amount of time as players and coaching staff from both teams gathered around Gage and knelt, praying for his speedy recovery.
