Former Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson is among the NFL players who share the feeling of giving former NFL QB Colin Kaepernick another chance. In 2020, the former Super Bowl-winning QB believed that Kaepernick had the skills to play at the pinnacle of American football. The absence of Kaepernick seems to have garnered support from active NFL players as the former 49ers QB awaits his chance.

While talking to reporters in a virtual interview in 2020, Wilson said, “I think the reality is that also Colin Kaepernick is a talented football player. I remember playing against him. The man could play some football.” Wilson sympathized with Kaepernick for his boldness to stand for his beliefs.

He further believes he was misunderstood. A not-so-secret fact in 2020 was the franchise’s attempts to sign Kaepernick to be Wilson’s backup on their roster.
