Brock Purdy is the biggest story of the 2022 NFL season. The last pick of the last year’s draft, ‘Mr. Irrelevant’ took the San Francisco 49ers to the NFC Championship Game after multiple injuries in the QB room. His fairytale run ended on January 30 as he himself went down with an injury in the clash against the Philadelphia Eagles. As the Niners have their work cut out to sort the QB situation for 2023, a timeline of Purdy’s return to the field may just be what the franchise needed to spring into action.

The Niners fans received an update about Purdy’s return timeline that had them up in arms.

Brock Purdy went on an eight-game win streak

The Niners used the 262nd pick of the 2022 NFL Draft to add Brock Purdy to their roster. He started the season as the third-string QB at Levi’s Stadium. The rookie started seven games and won all of them for the Niners after injuries in the QB room.

He took the Niners on a six-game winning streak toward the end of the regular season, including the game he came in after the Jimmy Garoppolo injury. He then continued his fine form in the postseason as well, with wins over the Seattle Seahawks and the Dallas Cowboys. Injury cut short his appearance in the NFC Championship Game, but he has done enough to give the Niners fans a sweet headache for the next season.

The Niners have learned the time frame of the return of their beloved rookie QB. According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, Brock Purdy will undergo surgery in Dallas. With the procedure scheduled for later this month, the Niners expect the QB to be ready for next season’s training camp.
