The 2020 NFL regular season is scheduled to start on September 3, 2021. The first game will be played at the Raymond James Stadium, home of reigning champions Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Teams across the league, including the New York Jets, have made some key moves in the summer free agency.

New head coach Robert Saleh and GM Joe Douglas have brought in the likes of DE Carl Lawson, WR Corey Davis, RB Tevin Coleman, DT Sheldon Rankins, CB Justin Hardee, and S Jarrad Davis, amongst others. They will look to further strengthen at the upcoming 2021 NFL Draft.

The Jets own the 2nd overall pick and are looking to bring in a quarterback in place of Sam Darnold. But given their recent draft record, we wonder if the New York-based franchise will break their 6-year jinx in 2021.

Jamal Adams, Sam Darnold part ways with the Jets in search of stardom

Since 2013, AFC East old boys the New York Jets, have been unfortunate at the NFL Draft. They brought in defensive tackle Sheldon Richardson 13th overall that year. But he opted to join the Seattle Seahawks in 2017. Safety Calvin Pryor (18th overall in 2014) was also traded to Cleveland Browns the same year.

Highly-rated defensive end Leonard Williams was picked at 6th overall in 2015. He later left to join neighbors, New York Giants, in 2019. Linebacker Darron Lee (20th overall 2016) joined Kansas City Chiefs in 2019. Jamal Adams was also part of a high-profile move to the Seattle Seahawks last year.

Now, Sam Darnold also left to join NFC South franchise Carolina Panthers. He was exchanged for a 2022 2nd and 4th rounder and a 2021 6th rounder. But what is the New York Jets‘ strategy for the upcoming 2021 NFL Draft? Watch this video to find out more.
