The San Francisco 49ers bounced back from their opening week loss to Arizona Cardinals with a win over New York Jets on Sunday. They registered a 13-31 victory against the Jets at the MetLife Stadium. However, things did not go as planned for Jimmy Garoppolo and Co. in their Week Two fixture.
The 49ers lost multiple players in the first half of the game itself to various injuries. The likes of Nick Bosa, ‘Jimmy G’, and Raheem Mostert all left the field due to serious injuries. Read further to find out how head coach, Kyle Shanahan, felt about Sunday’s game in New York.
Highly-rated San Francisco 49ers head coach, Kyle Shanahan, was not pleased with the playing conditions at the MetLife Stadium on Sunday. In fact, the young coach also revealed that his team was unhappy with how sticky the turf was even before the game began.
The qualms held as multiple players suffer serious injuries over the course of the match. Star defensive end, Nick Bosa, is reportedly going to be out for a long period based on Shanahan’s post-game revelation.
Besides Bosa, the 49ers will also most likely be without starting quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo for the next few weeks. The former New England Patriots man suffered an ankle sprain in the game. The average healing time for such an injury is between four-five weeks. Also, running back Raheem Mostert also suffered a knee injury and did not feature in the second half.
This is the list of 49ers players who suffered an injury tonight.
Kyle Shanahan has a tough task on his hands with this growing list of injuries. What makes matters worse is that the 49ers are scheduled to play New York Giants in Week Three at the same MetLife Stadium. 49ers fans will hope that Shanahan can call upon some of these injured stars, sooner rather than later and not see any more players leave next week.
