OBJ’s lawyer Daniel Davillier released a statement clarifying the timeline of the events. According to him, the athlete was not uncooperative in any manner and the entire incident was an unjust show of power by the airline authorities. However, new reports claim that Beckham was not in a state of consciousness when the flight attendant engaged in a discussion about the seatbelt.

According to NFL insider, Tom Pelissero and the Miami-Wade police department’s official statement, the 30-year-old WR didn’t look well after boarding the Los Angeles-bound Airline 1228. And the athlete’s ejection from the flight was for his own safety. “Fearing that Mr. Beckham was seriously ill. And that his condition will worsen through the expected five-hour flight. The attendants called for police and fire rescue,” the report said.

Refusal to put on a seatbelt wasn’t the only reason for Odell Beckham Jr’s ejection from the flight.

The Miami-Wade county’s official statement also noted that Odell Beckham Jr. was unresponsive when the flight attendant asked him to wear his seatbelt. “He appeared to be coming in and out of unconsciousness prior to the departure,” added the county report. When the officers arrived in flight and asked Odell to exit the plane, the Super Bowl champion refused to de-board. OBJ only exited once the entire flight was deplaned.

The former LA Rams WR delayed things for the entire flight according to the attendants. After his exit, officers guided Odell Beckham Jr. to a non-secure area of the terminal. The rest of the passengers also got off the plane during the incident. However, they re-boarded, and the flight left for Los Angeles in a short while. OBJ was quite shocked, and he tweeted, “Never in my life have I experienced what just happened to me… I’ve seen it all..”

This recent controversy may put a serious dent in OBJ’s search for his next team as franchises may want to stay away from inconsistencies and headlines. However, the Dallas Cowboys still lead in the race for the WR after owner Jerry Jones announced a sit-down with OBJ. There are some long-term deal options for him, but his Super Bowl dreams can be best achieved at Dallas.
