Jamal Adams of the Seattle Seahawks is coming off a significant shoulder injury. Adams joined the Seattle Seahawks as part of a trade from the New York Jets.
In return for Adams, the Jets received safety Bradley McDougald, 2 first-round picks, and 4th-round picks. Since his arrival in Seattle, Adams has not played to the level that he was expected to. In the 6 games that he played with the Seahawks, he has a total of 38 tackles total.
Of the 38, he only has 13 solo tackles, a sharp contrast to his earlier seasons where most of his tackles were made solo.

Adams has not been able to replicate the numbers that he had when he was part of the New York Jets. Across 20 games between the 2018 and 2019 seasons, Adams had a total of 200 tackles, of which 147 were solo tackles.
Due to his standout defensive performances with the Jets, Adams was nominated to the Pro-Bowl twice in 2018 and 2019. He even made the second-team All-Pro in 2018, and then the first-team All-Pro in 2019.

However, his numbers have remained consistent following his move to Seattle. While Adams has missed 4 games this season, he still has averaged about 5.5 sacks this season. The number is just one less than his career-high 6.5 sacks per season.

The Seahawks will be hoping that Adams can recover his form sooner rather than later. When at his best, Adams is a defensive force that very few offensive units can keep up with. Over the past few years, Adams has proven himself to be one of the best safeties in the league.
