In an interview with Rich Eisen, Sean McVay joked about rethinking his decision to get back to coaching. This came after the Los Angeles Rams Head Coach got to know about the deal Tom Brady made with Fox. Longtime NFL presenter Rich Eisen asked McVay about his thoughts on his “coaching mortality”, on the Rich Eisen Show.

In response to Eisen’s question, McVay jokingly remarked that Tom Brady’s astonishing new deal made him have second thoughts about rejoining the Rams this season.

Would Sean McVay quit coaching for a media deal like Tom Brady?

McVay said that his answer was in response to a question which was whether he wanted to be a “lifer in coaching.” In response, McVay replied he loved coaching and was excited to be back at the Rams this season. But he also did not know whether he would coach for his entire career.

McVay said that he was not averse to a career in the media. He said there was “no question about it” that he was interested in a career in media “down the line”. For the time being, he was happy as the head coach of the Rams. It is the natural progression in the NFL to go from on-field to in-booth.

Can McVay lead the Rams to another Super Bowl?

McVay took on the Rams’ job again for the 2022 season after rejecting a $100 million deal to join the NFL broadcasting team at Amazon. It shows that he values his role at the Rams more than a lucrative deal in the media for the foreseeable future. He is the youngest head coach in NFL history and the youngest to win a Super Bowl. He won the latter with the Los Angeles Rams in the 2021 season.
